Hazratganj, which is a major shopping area situated in the heart of Lucknow, has turned into a free Wi-Fi zone. Wondering how? As per the news report, visitors will now be able to experience this service on their hand-held devices. Initially, the service, which has been rolled out through fibre optics, will be offered for free to individual customers.

The free Wi-Fi zone covers a 100-metre radius on both sides of the MG Marg, that is from GPO crossing to Parivartan Chowk. The wireless Wi-Fi networks will deliver up to 2-3Mbps speed to the users.

In order to access this Wi-Fi service, the user has to type in a ‘one-time password’ (OTP) on the handset. After every 20 minutes, the network will automatically log the user out and the OTP has to be re-entered to again access the free service. Notably, an OTP will be valid for just 24 hours; after which, one has to generate a new password.

So if you are living in Lucknow or planning to visit the city soon, you can avail this service free of cost till it’s commercially launched everytime you go to Hazratganj.
